So this is one of the hidden gems of San Diego, the Secret Swings! I had been hearing about these swings so I did some googling and found a website / blog that basically shares hidden / underrated places in San Diego, http://hiddensandiego.net. One of the posts basically gave the directions of how to get to the swings.
I went to the first and second swings separately just because the second swing is much more secluded. We went to the first swing just a day before Grace left for good to Indonesia :". To go to the first swing was easier. It was not hidden or anything since it was near the street. You could easily find it on the way to Birch Aquarium. If you are coming from UCSD, I believe it will be on your left hand side.
I went to the second swing when Noni came visit. We walked from Birch Aquarium parking lot following Google Maps, using the coordinates given from hiddensandiego.net. Honestly tho, I believe we went the wrong way. We hiked on a narrow trail going uphill. I'm glad we kept our faith haha because we found it! We went back from the 'correct' way as it actually had like a hiking trail from the first swing (which was still hard but not as hard as the hike that we did to get there).
