Lassssst post on the series of A Day in North Park posts is about F-O-O-D. Ok so Pat and I had been wanting to try Wow Wow Waffle because it is one of the food you must try in SD and often being featured in top whatever food lists. However, their opening hours are somewhat unpredictable and they run out quickly so it took us like a year to finally try it (wowow right). Nonetheless, it was worth the try cus their waffles are AW-SUM YUM. It was just a perfect state of sweet and the flavor was just right. We tried one savory and one sweet waffles, the Number Seven and the Cookie Butter, respectively.

The Number Seven is bacon baked in brown sugar, avocado, & goat cheese waffle whereas the Cookie Butter is gingerbread cookie spread aka speculous or biscoff waffle. Both are yummmy and what makes this place even more special is their location and decor. Soo, it is located in a semi-secret location behind a coin laundry at 30th Street and Myrtle in North Park. It indeed was an easy miss but since we have googled this place previously and was aware of this "hidden gem behind the laundry" thing, we just aimed to find the laundry place and voila, found it.

It really was a small entrance (alley), right next to the somewhat hipster and nice laundry place. The decor and vibe was so cute and hipster too. It was very homey and felt as if we were in a backyard of our neighbors. Pictured above was some of the corners of the place. Recommended to visit 10/10.

I actually wanted to try Hammonds Ice Cream in North Park but since Pat and Adri had been there before, we decided to try a new place called the Milk Bar. It was kind of Berkeley's CREAM or Baked Bear. It was a tiny place that is connected to a restaurant called The Street Merchants (that btw sells Chicken and Waffle that smell really good - but we did not try). It was kind of confusing as well when we looked at the menu so we just showed an instagram post of what we wanted to try (pictured above - the fruity pebbles ice cream sandwich) and the cashier was fine with it so yeah. TBH, it looked much better in picture than what it actually tasted. It was very hard to chew! We ended up only eat one side of the sandwich despite the shock face of the cashier when he figured that the three of us were going to share one ice cream sandwich. Maybe just try the milkshake / milk next time.

Lastly, and this one is NOT in North Park, but in Hillcrest area near Harper's topiary garden, was Rolled Up. It was a hybrid sushi and burrito nyam nyam. And the Crunchy Little Guy was SO SO GOOD. We ordered the Crunch Little Guy (shrimp tempura, cabbage, persian cucumber, crab, blue corn chips, ginger-thai guac, sriracha aioli)  and the TBD (korean short ribs, kimchi salsa, cilantro, julienni carrots, lettuce, ginger-thai sauce, blue corn chips, and salsa). TBD had too much carrots and was bland, but Crunchy Little Guy was delicioso.

K, that's all for this food and photo adventure in (mainly) North Park area. We were trying to kill time before church and we ended up having 1.5 hours left and tried our luck to go to Salk Institute. Sadly it was closed (fenced all around with securities) so we could not get in. It was a very fine day indeed and it was ended with a beautiful mass in my fav church, All Hallows. Lastly, Happy Easter everyone! Hope you all had a nice Spring Break! :D
