All White Everything

Throwback Thursday to 4th of July 2015 road trip to New Mexico <3 So glad that everyone was able to go this time (I did not join the RV trip - though I was very curious on road-tripping on an RV) We went to New Mexico and we passed through El Paso, TX. Due to the limited time, we didn't go to Santa Fe and Albuquerque. These two cities are still far. Along the way we also figured that NM was famous for its aliens' events and apparently there was an event going on but, once again, it's far from our destination so we did not go.

We went to White Sands National Monument first in the morning. It was weird that the only white sands in the area was this national park. The surroundings are normal soil. Since we came early, it was practically empty. And all were white. They had notice that we should not hike during sun-peak hours (noon). Also that we must bring water and keep track of our trail since it was easy to get lost. We decided not to go too far to avoid getting lost;also, we had to go to our second destination.

The sand was not hot. It was actually cold and soft because, if I remember correctly, it was made of gypsum. We walked without our sandals on at some times when we took pictures. Sometimes it looked like snow but nope it's sandssss.

After lunch ( I think - ahh forgetting already; this is one of the reasons I started this blog - to help this aging lady remember her experience LEL),  we went to Carlsbad Caverns National Park.  There were two ways to go underground. First, take the elevator to go down and hike up. Second, which we decided to do, walk down and take the elevator to go up. It was a hot day but it was quite cold inside the cave since there was no sunlight. There were bats as well so we had to be careful not to get poo-ed on. It was a beautiful cave inside, underground, full of limestone deposits. And definitely do hike down (and not up) since it could be quite challenging to do so.

Ahh I miss roadtrips with lovelies. Also, I miss my long hair.

My rolled eyes; weird.
